Install a Certigna ID RGS* certificate (software format) on Firefox under Mac

Installation of the certificat

After having downloaded and accepted your Certigna ID RGS* certificate, open Firefox and:

  • Click on the icon representing three small horizontal bars at the top right of Firefox

  • Click on "Preferences"

  • On the left, click on "Privacy and security"

  • Go down and click on "View certificates"

  • Click on "Your certificates"

  • Click on "Import"

  • In the new window select the .p12 file to install

  • Click on "Open"

  • Enter your certificate's protection password (it has been defined during your certificate download) and click on "OK"

Your certificate is installed!

Installation of the certification chain

After the installation of the certificate you'll have to install the certification chain:

Simplified method

The installation is done.

Complex method

  • Download the corresponding intermediate certificate:Certigna ID RGS*

  • Click on the icon representing three small horizontal bars at the top right of Firefox

  • click on "Preferences"

  • On the left, click on "Privacy and security"

  • Go down and click on "View certificates"

  • Click on "Authorities" and "Import"

  • Select your certificate and click on "Open"

  • Tick the 3 boxes and click on "OK"

The authority is istalled.

Check the certificate installation

To make sure the certificate is correctly installed, follow the procedure:

  • Download the intermediate certificate : Certigna ID RGS*

  • Click on the icon representing three small horizontal bars at the top right of Firefox

  • click on "Preferences"

  • On the left, click on "Privacy and security"

  • Go down and click on "View certificates"

  • Then click on "Your Certificates" and left-click on your certificate

  • Click on "View"

  • A window opens, go on the "Details" tab

  • In "Certificate Hierarchy" you should see 3 elements: The root certificate, the intermediary and your client certificate. If the chain is not complete it is necessary to install the intermediate authority.
