Sign or lock a PDF?

The PDF security options can not be trusted. Whether you want to block the file opening or limit the rights. Software can be found to remove PDF restrictions (see http://www.elcomsoft.com/apdfpr.html).

Rather than rely on illusive security (preventing file modification for example) you might digitally sign your PDF. They will still be editable but the certificate will indicate that the file has been modified.
