201001: VeriSign announces the replacement of its 1024-bit roots
VeriSign indicates that as of the end of 2010, all its SSL products will migrate to 2048-bit roots.
It means an important modification of the certificates recognition by browsers. Indeed, those new 2048-bit roots, introduced only a few years ago, will be used and won't be entirely recognized by older browsers.
To avoid any issue and if you need your certificate to be recognized by older browsers, we advise to order your certificate as soon as possible and select the longer validity period available.
