Reissuance: delivery time and grace period

Each certification authority applies its own reissuance policy regarding delivery times and grace period (time between the reissuance request and the revocation of the former certificate).

Please note that for the products that do not offer any grace period, there will eventually be an SSL disruption for the certificate will be revoked before the issuance of the replacement one.

Certificates issued more than 13 months before

If the original certificate has been issued more than 13 months ago, the reissuance delivery time will be the same than for a standard order as indicated on our comparative charts.

Certificates issued less than 13 months before

DigiCert family (DigiCert, Thawte, Geotrust) non EV server products

• Delivery time: 1 business day
• Grace period: until the certificate's expiration

DigiCert family (DigiCert, Thawte, Geotrust) EV server products

• Delivery time: 3 business days
• Grace period: until the certificate's expiration

DigiCert client products

• Delivery time: 1 business day
• Grace period: none, the certificate is revoked as soon as the reissuance is requested

Sectigo products

• Delivery time: 3 business days
• Grace period: until the certificate's expiration or none if the CN is modified.

TBS X509 products

• Delivery time: 3 business days
• Grace period: until the certificate's expiration

GlobalSign products

• Delivery time: 2 business days
• Grace period: until the certificate's expiration

Certigna products

• Delivery time: 1 to 2 business days
• Grace period: none, the certificate is revoked as soon as the reissuance is requested

Positive SSL products

• Delivery time: 1 business day
• Grace period: until the certificate's expiration or none if the CN is modified.

Note that the delivery times can be shorter but we prefer to be cautious.
