200704: VeriSign changes its secure product (40-bit)
As of April 3rd, 2007, Verisign will replace its secure certificates issuance root (40bit guaranteed). The VeriSign/RSA Secure Server CA root, that expires in 2010, will be replaced by the intermediate root. Verisign secure certificates will then no longer be issued from root but will be chained. It implies an additional procedure for the installation.
The certificates will not be recognized anymore by some older browsers such as Netscape 4.06-4.5, Internet Explorer 3.02-5.0, AOL 3-5, J2RE 1.2-1.4.0.
Currently valid certificates will work normally until their expiration date.
