Enable automatic renewal
In September 2019, TBS INTERNET launches a new functionality on its Certificate center: automatic renewal.
What for?
Once the option is activated the renewal of your certificates is automatically ordered 65 days (at most) before the expiration of the certificate to renew.
The new orders are identical to the previous ones: same product, same validity, same SANs, same contacts, same DCV method...
If your server software allows it, your CSR will be re-used as well. If not a CSR request will be sent by e-mail.
How to activate the option?
Log in your Certificate Center and click on "Automatic renewal" of the "Operation" menu.
On this page you'll see all your currently valid certificate on which the automatic renewal can be activated.
Select certificates and click the "Enable automatic renewal" button.
To disable the automatic renewal follow the same steps and click on the "Disable automatic renewal" button.
For which certificates?
The automatic renewal can be enable on any SSL OV and EV server certificates.
What advantages does it offer?
Except for the obvious advantage of not ordering your renewals anymore this new tool will prevent you to forget to renew your certificates. Finally, any renewal request ordered between 90 and 60 days before the previous certificate expiration benefits from an early renewal discount code (between 5% and 10% regarding the certification authority).
My certificate is already in renewal period?
It is possible to enable automatic renewal on certificates already in their renewal period. Enable the option as explained above. The new order will be created within the following hours.
What to expect after the order deposit?
As for a classical order, a confirmation e-mail is sent to the certificate manager including an attached quotation or an invoice.
Then comes the audit and delivery.
Example of an ideal case: automatic renewal on an account with a recurrent mandate with a re-usable CSR: in that case no connection to the account is required. The system create the renewal order, the audit team processes the order, the invoice is automatically debited and the certificate is delivered by e-mail!
