Installing a VMC certificate

When you order a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), you can choose to host it and the associated logo yourself, or ask the authority to host both files.

In both cases, you will need to update your DNS record to activate the certificate.

It is also essential that the DMARC record remains valid.

Items to recover

First, retrieve the URLs of your logo and certificate.

If you have chosen to have your files hosted by the authority, you can retrieve their URLs from the status page of your certificate:

URLs of your files

Then create a TXT entry in your DNS record and enter the following values:

Host field: default._bimi.[]
Value field: v=BIMI1;l=[URL of your logo];a=[URL of your certificate]
TTL field: 1 hour or 3600 seconds (depending on what is accepted by your
DNS provider).

Save these values.

Propagation can take up to 48 hours.

Your certificate contain several SANs?

In this case, you must create as many DNS records as FQDNs registered in your certificate.
