Import a certificate (PFX format) in Firefox on Windows / Mac
If your CSR was generated via our KeyBot tool, you can generate a PFX file from the status page of your certificate, button Generate PFX / PEM. You can find more information here:Generate a client certificate in PFX format
Installation of the certificate
After generating your certificate in PFX format, open Firefox and:
- Click on the icon representing three small horizontal bars at the top right of Firefox
- Click on "Options (Windows) / Preferences (Mac)"
- On the left, click on "Privacy and security"
- Go down and click on "View certificates"
- Click on "Your certificates"
- Click on "Import"
- In the new window select the .pfx file to install
- Click on "Open"
- Enter the certificate protection password (which was defined when generating the pfx file) and click "OK"
A message appears confirming the success of the installation. Click on "OK"
Check the certificate installation
To make sure the certificate is correctly installed, follow the procedure:
- Click on the icon representing three small horizontal bars at the top right of Firefox
- Click on "Options (Windows) / Preferences(Mac)"
- On the left, click on "Privacy and security"
- Go down and click on "View certificates"
- Then click on "Your Certificates" and left-click on your certificate
- Click on "View"
- A window opens, go on the "Details" tab
- In "Certificate Hierarchy" you should see 3 elements: The root certificate, the intermediary and your client certificate.
