20200828 - Disappearance of Norton secured seal
The Norton Secured Seal delivered along with DigiCert Secure Site and Secure Site EV certificates (formerly Symantec) will disappear on October 16, 2020.
The seal was part of the purchase deal of Symantec "certificate" activity by DigiCert.
After several graphical evolutions this past few months, it will definitely be replaced by the new DigiCert deal:
Which products are concerned?
Only certificates from the DigiCert Secure Site range. Thawte and Geotrust will keep their own seal.
What is the procedure?
Certificates delivered before October 16th will benefit from the Norton seal up until their expiration date. There won't be any modification for currently valid certificates. The other certificates will be delivered along with the new seal.
