20200901 - Disappearance of OU fields in DigiCert certificates
DigiCert recently announced its decision to stop issuing SSL certificates with OU field.
Why?
When requested by customers, this field must comply with extensive rules and is then subject to validation requirements.
To reduce confusion around this optional field and to help improve validation times, DigiCert decided to simply remove it.
Note: if this field is present in your CSR, it will be ignored during the certificate issuance process.
When?
We do not know the precise date but it will be soon.
What are the products concerned?
All DigiCert, Thawte and Geotrust SSL certificates.
