Install a certificate for Barracuda Networks product
You received your certificate by email with one or several intermediate certificates and a root certificate. Keep this email within reach.1- Retrieve your certificate(s) on your server
In the delivery email you'll find several links. Click on them and download the files:- A: your server certificate
- B: the certification chain
2- Creation of the PEM file
In order to import the certificate into Barracuda, it must be in a PEM format. To check the format, open the file containing the certificate, its content should appear like that:-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- (the signed certificate, series of characters without spaces) -----END CERTIFICATE-----Every certificates issued by certification authorities are chained for security matters.
- Before importing your certificate, you will have to get the file containing that chain (it should have a name like chain-(series of numbers).txt).
- Then create a file that you will name certificate.pem for example
- Edit the file and copy/paste the entire content of the file containing your certificate in it.
- Then push the entry button 2 times and copy/paste the entire content of the file containing the certification chain.
- Save the file, it is now ready to be imported into Barracuda.
3- Importation of the certificate into Barracuda
To send your signed certificate, use the Upload Signed Certificate option that you'll find in the Advanced > SSL or Advanced > Secure Administration page menu of the Barracuda web interface.To use the certificate you just uploaded, select Trusted (Signed by a trusted CA) and then upload the certificate you created previously (ex: certificate.pem) and click on 'Save Changes'.
