Sectigo order automation

An automation system has been implemented by Sectigo to speed up the process of server certificate issuance.

How does it work?

To enable automation, an order has to undergo a full audit process.

Once this order is delivered, Sectigo will offer to automate your following orders.

You'll receive an e-mail like this one:

===================================== Subject: Address confirmation for automation Dear customer, Thank you for choosing TBS Certificats. We have received an order for a (product name) for the following domain(s): (list of domains to be secured) Please retain this email for your records. Confirm Order Details In order to help us speed up the validation process for your orders, which will include the same email address and company details, in future, we need you to confirm that this order has been placed by you and that the following information is correct: - Your email address: (corporate contact e-mail address) - Organization: (Organization name) (Address) (ZIP code) (City) (State) (Country) Please browse to the link below to confirm that this order has been placed by you and that this information is correct. (Confirmation link) You will also need to provide the following "email verification code": (Verification code) If this is not your order, please click: (Rejection link) If you have questions regarding the certificate issuance process, please contact us. Regards, =====================================

If you give your consent, then your next orders will be automated.

Warning: the automation request must be validated within 96 hours. The link will be disabled after this period.

The automated order process

The automation means Sectigo leans on the audit of a previous order to validate the pending one. The DCV validation still has to be completed.

A confirmation e-mail is sent to the corporate contact to validate the certificate order:

===================================== Subject: Automated issuance request Dear customer, Thank you for choosing TBS Certificats. We have received an order for a (product name) for the following domain(s): (list of domains to be secured) Your prompt action to this email is needed to define the type of validation process applicable to your order and to begin processing it. We will begin processing your certificate manually if no feedback comes within 96 hours. Please retain this email for your records. Confirm Order Details In order to help us speed up the validation process for your order, we need you to confirm that this is another order placed by you and that the following information verified previously is still correct and valid: - Your email address: (corporate contact e-mail address) - Organization: (Organization name) (Address) (ZIP code) (City) (State) (Country) Please browse to the link below to confirm your order details. (Confirmation link) You will also need to provide the following "email verification code": (Verification code) If these order details are incorrect or this order has not been placed by you, please click: (Rejection link) If you have questions regarding the certificate issuance process, please contact us. Regards, =====================================

Warning: the automation request must be validated within 96 hours. Beyond, the order will be processed normally and undergo a full audit.

Which orders can be automated?

To be automated your orders must have identical values to the already audited order. The values:

  • corporate contact e-mail address
  • Organization name
  • Address
  • ZIP code
  • City
  • State
  • country

Warning: the comparison is case sensitive. Take this into account when generating your CSR.

The re-validation

The information vetted during the first order are valid for 13 months. After that period a new audit will have to be performed and the automation process will be done again.

For which products?

The automation is available for any Sectigo and TBS X509 server certificates.
