Generate a CSR for 4D server / Business Kit
4D Business Kit 2.x
1 - Generate your CSR and private key
- Launch your Business Kit
- Go to "Tools > Generate an SSL certificate..."
- Fill in all the fields of the Certificate identity section as explained below:

CN: Common name / domain name / server name /FQDN:
You need to enter here your SSL server's name, i.e. "secure.company.co.uk", or "www.my-domain.co.uk" or "www.product.com". No IP Addresses(more precisions here). No space or blank characters.
N.B.: Using certificates containing a reserved IP Address or an internal name (xxx.local, server_name) is deprecated by the CA / Browsers Forum and will not be accepted by any authority (more information here). -
O: Organisation / Company Name :
Write here your company's or organization's corporate name (nor the commercial name or an acronym), preferably in uppercase. -
ST: State / Province:
Enter here your state or province name. -
L: Location / City:
Enter here your company/organization's seat/headquarters location. -
C: Country:
Indicate your company/organization's two letter country code, preferably in uppercase. -
OU: Organisational unit / Division / Branch:
We recommend leaving this field blank or indicate a generic term such as "IT Services"

CN: Common name / domain name / server name /FQDN:
- Click on the SSL 128-bit button in the Generate certificate request section.
- Copy the content of the YOUR PRIVATE KEY field to a text editor and save it as key.pem inside your 4D Business Kit folder.
- Copy the content of the YOUR CERTIFICATE field to a text editor and save it as request.txt inside your 4D Business Kit folder.
2 - Finalize the order process
- Use the appropriate link to place your order on our website. See Access an order form
- Copy/paste the content of the "moncsr.txt" file in the form.
4D Business Kit 3.x
1 - Generate your CSR and private key
- Launch your Business Kit
- Go to "Tools > Generate an SSL certificate..."
- Fill in all the fields of the Certificate identity section as explained above.
- Click on the SSL 128-bit button in the Generate certificate request section.
- Click on the CERTIFICATE REQUEST tab in the Certificate request section and copy and paste the content into the CSR field on the order form.
2 - Finalize the order process
- Use the appropriate link to place your order on our website. See Access an order form
- Copy/paste your CSR in the form.
