Generate a CSR for Kerio Webstar 5

Generate a private key and a CSR

1. Launch the WebStar Admin Client
2. Under "Web Server" click on "SSL Configuration"
3. In the menu, click "Tools" and select "Generate Keys and CSR"
4. In the "Generate Key" section
   • Name: (privatekey2012 for example)
   • Password: (your password)
   • Bits: (length: 2048 at least)
5. Click the "generate" button
6. Got to the "Generate Certificate Signing Request" section. Fill in:
   • Common name / domain name / server name: Indicate your SSL server's name. For example secure.organization.com or www.product.com. No IP address.
     
     
   • Organisation / Organisation: Indicate the corporate name of your company (no trade name or acronym), in uppercase preferably.
     
     
   • Organisational unit / Department / Branch: We advise not to fill in this field or to enter a generic term such as "IT Department".
   • Location / City: Indicate the city where your company headquarters are based.
     
     
   • Country: Indicate FR if your company is in France, BE for Belgium, etc, in uppercase preferably.
   • State: In France indicate the name of the department where your company headquarters are based (not the number).
     
     
   • Phone number, Fax & Email: let blank
7. Select your key and enter the password.
8. Select "Normal Certificate" and click on "Generate CSR".
9. Place your request on our website. See Access an order form
10. Copy/paste the content of the www.exemple.com.csr file in the form.
