Import a PKCS 12 certificate into Outlook

If you have a PKCS#12 file (.pfx ot .p12 extension) containing a certificate that you want to use in Outlook, you will have to import it into Outlook first.

To do so, in Internet Explorer:

• Open Tools / Internet Options / Content / Certificates
• In the Personal tab click Import
• The wizard appears
• Select the file to import
• Enter the password
• Tick the Enable strong protection box
• Check Mark this key as exportable
• Select Personal Store (default)

Your certificate has been imported. If there was a certification chain in your PKCS 12 file, it has been imported as well.
