Server certificate for Cisco VPN 3000 series

CSR generation: installation of a new certificate

  • Go in the "Certificat Management" menu,

  • then "Click here to enroll with a Certificate Authority "

CSR generation: renewal of an existing configuration

  • Go in the "Certificat Management" menu

  • In the "SSL Certificates" chart, you should retrieve your interface, such as "Public - www.domain.com". Click "delete" to delete the former certificate.

  • Now you should see "No Certificat Installed", click on the "Enroll" link matching this interface

Enter the information of your certificate request:

  • CN: Common name / domain name / server name:
    Indicate here your SSL server name, such as "secure.company.com", "www.my-domain.com" or "www.product.com". No IP address (learn more). No spaces nor blank characters.

  • C: Country:
    indicate FR if your company is located in France, BE for Belgium, etc, in uppercase preferably.

  • ST: State:
    in France indicate the name of the department where your company headquarters are based (not the number).

  • L: City:
    indicate the city where your company headquarters are based.

  • O: Organisation / Company Name:
    indicate the corporate name of your company (no trade name or acronym), in uppercase preferably.

  • OU: Organisational unit / Department / Branch:
    We advise not to fill in this field or to enter a generic term such as "IT Department".
After validation you'll be redirected to a new page on which you'll see your "Certificate Request" (CSR). Copy/Paste this chain of characters in the TBS order form. After the audit you'll receive your certificate by email.

Install a server certificate for Cisco VPN 3000 series

  • Go in the "Certificat Management" menu, then "Installation"
    You should retrieve the request you placed while generating your CSR.

  • Select "Install" (or "Enroll"), then select the .cer certificate file provided in our delivery email

  • On this page you might see a "Download CA certificat path" menu. Here you'll have to import, one after the other, all the certificates composing the certification chain.
    To do so, go on your certificate status page (see our delivery email) then click on the "see the certificate" button then on the "see the certification chain" link.
    You'll see several certificates to save as text files individualy and to import into your Cisco.

Do not forget to install the entire certification chain before installing the final server certificate.
