Symantec, Thawte and Geotrust certificates: is a change of supplier necessary?

In the light of difficulties encountered by owners of certificates issued by the Symantec group it is reasonable to think about changing supplier.

Indeed, the months to come will be synonyms of recurring procedures for Symantec, Thawte and Geotrust certificates: reissuance, browser recognition to ckeck...

However TBS INTERNET stands by your side to ease these operations and will keep you inform about actions you may have to take.

Reminder: Any certificate issued before 1st December 2017 and expiring after 13th September 2018 will have to be reissued at some point. Consult a detailed article.

Is it possible to change supplier?

Sure. TBS INTERNET provides certificates issued by several Certification Authorities and assuring equivalent security levels.

Migrate to GlobalSign certificates

GlobalSign, first European Certification Authority, proposes an advantageous replacement of your Symantec, Thawte and Geotrust certificates. The authority has a large products range with basic server certificates, UCC, Extended Validation or wildcard ones.

Offers details

  • no loss of days: the days remaining on your currently valid certificates will be reported on the GlobalSign replacement certificate
  • 30 bonus days are offered by GlobalSign and will also be reported on your new certificate

For its part, TBS INTERNET offers 5% discount for any purchase of a GlobalSign server certificate replacing a currently valid certificate issued by one authority of the Symantec group.

How to take advantage of this offer?

While putting your GlobalSign certificate order, enter the following discount code on the form:

Migration to another supplier

If your certificate is in its renewal period order a new certificate instead of a renewal. Only downside: its expiration date will be lost.

If it is not the case, then order a new certificate. The remaining days of your currently valid certificate will be definitively lost.
