20161128 - HTTPS will soon be mandatory for iOS app
From January 1st 2017 App Transport Security or ATS toughen its security rules for apps submitted to Apple Store.
Debuted in iOS 9 / OS X 10.11, ATS was a bunch of recommendations wich purpose was to secure data sent via an app.
Today Apple decide to make ATS mandatory and will then require HTTPS as of 2017.
You'll then have to get a SSL certificate that will guarantee the security of data transiting from your apps.
